Welcome to this course in Productive Livestock with Low Use of Antibiotics.

The CGIAR Research Program on Livestock (Livestock CRP) provides research-based solutions to help smallholder farmers, pastoralists and agro-pastoralists transition to sustainable, resilient livelihoods and productive systems. The Livestock Health flagship under the Livestock CRP is working towards improving livestock health. This training package on Productive livestock with low use of antibiotics was developed in collaboration between the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Makerere University, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries (MAAIF) and District Local Governments in Uganda and was created based on the open online course (MOOC) Effective Livestock Production with Low Use of Antibiotics by SLU. The interactive training draws on Sweden’s long-term experience in producing healthy and productive animals with low antibiotic use and provides examples from Uganda on how measures may be tailored to the local context in a low or middle-income country.
